English Electric Canberra T.19 (WJ975). Built in 1953 as a Canberra B.2. Served with RAF No. 231 Operational Conversion Unit (OCU), No's 35 and 44 Squadrons till February 1958 when it was transferred to Bolton Paul for modification to T.11 standard, after which it was used as a general crew trainer and air intercept trainer for the Gloster Javelin. In 1968, WJ975 was converted to T.19 standard. WJ975 joined No. 100 Squadron in 1973 and remained with the squadron till May 1980 when it was struck off charge. From 1983, WJ975 resided at the Bomber Command Aviation Museum at Hemswell. After the museum closed in 2006 the aircraft was broken for scrap. Thankfully the cockpit section was spared.
