English Electric Canberra PR.7 (WH779). Entered service with RAF No. 542 Squadron in March 1954, but was soon moved on to No. 13 Squadron, then No. 80 Squadron and finally No. 31 Squadron. In March 1971 it was allocated Ground Instructional Duties a RAFG Wildenrath before being moved into storage at St Athan. It was later given an overhaul and its flying duties reinstated, serving with No. 13 Squadron, No. 100 Squadron and finally No. 1 Photographic Reconnaissance Unit. WH779 was finally broken down at RAF Marham in 1974 for the airframe to be used for structural integrity testing, developing NDT techniques and inspection training. The cockpit section was previously displayed at East Midlands Aeropark and Newark Air Museum before arriving at SYAM in 2015.
