Gloster Meteor T.7 (VW453 ‘Z’). Completed in May 1949 this airframe was assigned to RAF No. 203 Advanced Flying School at Driffield, before serving with 604 Squadron at North Weald. Its history is a bit obscure, but its thought it was retired from RAF service in early 1957. Prior to arriving at the museum in April 2013 under a Chinook helicopter it was a gate guardian at RAF Innsworth.
